Reasonable Fees

No hourly Fees; Every Case is Handled on a Flat Fee Basis

We charge $200 for a phone consultation. For an emergency phone consultation (a phone consultation scheduled in 24 hours or less) or an in person consultation, our consultation fee is $400.  A Consultation is one appointment for a time period of 30 minutes or less.

We accept cash, checks, wire transfers, credit cards, and are now accepting payments made in Bitcoin or Ethereum.

Reasonable Fees

Many lawyers bill at an hourly rate and send clients monthly statements informing them of their bill. In all of our cases we bill a flat fee. This means that we will quote you a fee and that will be the total amount that you will pay for our legal services.

License

Mr. Messersmith holds an unrestricted license to practice law from the State of Illinois since November 2002.  He has practiced law continuously since 2002 and his practice is limited to immigration law.

Previous Experience

Before opening The Messersmith Law Firm, Mr. Messersmith gained extensive practical experience clerking for the Honorable Dorothy Kirie Kinnaird, the Presiding Judge of the Chancery Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County as an extern as well as clerking for the Honorable Timothy C. Evans, the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County as an intern.

Education

Mr. Messersmith earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1999 and a law degree from the John Marshall Law School in 2002.
