Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), formerly known as McCarran International Airport, is the primary airport serving Las Vegas and a growing entry point for international travelers from Mexico, Europe, Asia, and Canada. As tourism and business travel increase, CBP officers at LAS have become more active in screening and detaining individuals upon arrival.
The airport features a large U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility capable of processing up to 2,000 passengers per hour. CBP conducts inspections, enforces U.S. immigration laws, and may detain, deny entry, or remove foreign nationals arriving in Las Vegas.
Whether you’re traveling on a visitor visa, student visa, work visa, or ESTA, entry is not guaranteed. A single interaction at the airport can result in deportation, visa cancellation, or even a multi-year bar from returning to the U.S.
